Friday night (August 8th) brings us together for a "Chili Dump" supper where everyone pours their favorite chili fixin's into the community cauldron for a multi-leguminous experience. Full of beans, we'll start Saturday (August 9th) with a Continental Divide breakfast and some local exploration. After lunch, the curious will be able to inspect our trailers at the VAC Open House. After social hour, the potluck dinner features organic sausages from fellow-VAC'ers Kris and Jill Gosar's Ranch in nearby Monte Vista, Colorado.
The
fun continues on Saturday night (August 9th) as VAC Archive Historian Fred
Coldwell reviews Airstream trailer evolution from the
1940s to 1970s. Sunday (August 10th)
is set aside for some exploration of a small ghost town
at La Veta Pass and just hanging out. On
Monday (August 11th), day trips offer you the choice of visiting
the Great Sand Dunes National Monument, Bishop’s Castle nestled in the
San Isabel National Forest, riding historic trolley cars in Trinidad or
you may want to take in a round of golf at scenic Grandote Peaks Golf
Club. Monday night is the last escape, as we all return to
reality on Tuesday. |
