We are fortunate to still have the original Bowen water heater vent & cover...I understand that these are oftene either damaged or completely lost. |
Ours isn't perfect, but we'll straigthen it up & polish it & it'll be fine! |
Removed cover & expanded view... |

We were convinced that the water heater would be history...the previous owner had disconnected it and just bent the pipes out of the way. There was also some evidence of water leakage at some point by the water stains in the compartment. Naturally, we assumed the worst...that it didn't work. |
So, out it came! |
Besides being filthy dirty...it looked fine! Next we filled it up with water with the garden hose & let it sit all day, under city water pressure....no leaks! |

The last thing was the propane heating element.
We hooked-up the propane and it fired up just fine...yipee! |
The previous owner must have just been extreme in his winterizing methods...to our relief! Next trip, we'll have hot water! Works like a
champ! | |
Update 4/15/03!!! Even after our first "winterizing"...everything works perfectly! |
