We took
in some pieces to be chromed....pretty cool!
The door
knobs, escutheons & license plate light...unfortunately, I
forgot to take "before" pictures
The
doorknobs were worn through to the brass & the outside one
had a major dent that we straightened out before taking it
in. The license plate light was pitted & dull...not
now!

These
are the vibration isolators from the original PAR water pump. They are hard & brittle from 38 years
of use...
...that
was before we realized that we would need a new water pump! Oh
well ~

found these suitable replacements from West
Marine...they aren't in the online catolog, but just ask
~

Okay,
here's one for you...
We are
looking for a replacement "fry pan" dump cap.
The
original was aluminum and the new Thetford, Valetrra &
"universal fitting" caps don't fit. Evidently, Airstream
switched over to the standard in '65 and being that Maxwell
is a '64 we need an old one...these have been "out of stock" for
30+ years!
If
anyone has come across a solution or alternate cap that
fits a pre-'65...please let us know...
Update 4/04/03!!!
After over a year of searching...we have a happy ending....I found one
on ebay!
