Isla Mujeres means "Island of Women"...I think it got the name because two of the main activities there are shopping & sun-bathing...a woman's paradise!  Of course it's also know for scuba diving & snorkeling...we snorkelled, but not here.

We ferried over on "the people's ferry" rather than the "tourist ferry" to get a taste of the local flavor.  Once we got there we rented a moped to tool around the island...it was real pretty, but got a bit windy & cloudy in the afternoon ~ that made for some real pretty pictures though.

We came across this "interesting" beach house...

...what were they thinking!!! But what a view!

A little  flora & fauna...

...good thing we weren't wearing our lizard boots!

There were lots & lots of unique buildings...these two were our favorites!

Love the colors!!!

An entry to a house on the right & a fancy French restaurant below...unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't open, I would have loved to have seen the inside!

This restaurant reminds me of a typical Mexican blanket...

Wouldn't you agree?

We always like to check out the local cemeteries in Mexican & Indian communities...this one was really cool!
