We went on a side
trip at lunch on the Chiche'n Itza' trip to a natural limestone
swimming hole. These "sink holes" are where the Mayans would throw offerings to their
god's...including live human
offerings!

How many steps??? The surface of the water is about 90 feet from the surface of the sink-hole...about 100 steps down...this was before climbing the pyramid @ Chiche'n Itza' the same day! |

Here's a shocker...Shari actually jumped off of the ledge into the Cenote'...twice! It was about 20' above the water!!! Unfortunately, the shutter speed of our digital camera was too slow to document this rare phenomenon...here's the only evidence! |
